Why Not … Treat Yourself to a MUJI Carpet Cleaner

MUJI Carpet Cleaner

Are you friends with a cat? Then you need a MUJI Carpet Cleaner

Behold (above) the MUJI Carpet Cleaner, in its minimalist, sculptural glory. It is a lint roller, but look how big it is! The Carpet Cleaner is a component of the MUJI cleaning system, but also, a life-changing stand-alone element for those of us who love cats.

Get one of these Big Boys from MUJI, and you’ll wonder why you ever spent a fortune on weedy little plastic handled lint rollers. Classic lint rollers have silly little paper strips that break your nails when you try to unpeel them, and the rolls need to be frequently replaced which is annoying and expensive.

MUJI carpet cleaner compared to weedy generic lint roller

It is much, much faster to remove lint from yourself with the MUJI Carpet Cleaner than with a plastic handled lint roller. Also easier to reach from  shoulders to backside, if you made the mistake of lying supine in your nicest black frock and then had a cat use the small of your back as a cushion.

If you live with someone else, not only can they lint-roll you very quickly with the MUJI Carpet Cleaner but if they get the pressure right, it’s a little bit like having a massage, so one ends up not just less hairy but pleasantly relaxed into the bargain.

You can of course, also use it as MUJI intended: to clean carpets – and curtains (if you have hairy cats that like to sit on the windowsills). For this use, it’s good to get the aluminium telescopic pole that is also part of the MUJI Cleaning System, so that you don’t get housewife’s knee rolling your carpets by hand.

I am a big fan of the MUJI cleaning system because it’s simple, effective and chic and I like anything that adds a bit of glamour to the daily grind.

The MUJI Carpet Cleaner has an RRP of £5.95 (refill roll has an RRP of £1.50) and is available here
