Time To Get Your Twin-Set On … It’s Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out 2012

It’s Vogue’s Fashion Night Out this evening. I’m planning where to go, and Burlington Arcade is a must-see, as they have wisely placed themselves in the hands of the marvellous Last Tuesday Society, but I already know that I’m not going to be able to focus on very much at all until I have seen for myself the vending machines at the Chanel Covent Garden Pop-Up store.

I haven’t been so excited about automated product delivery since I was a small child, when I had a little red plastic box that dispensed miniature Cadbury bars  for the princely sum of 2p.

Tempting though it is to imagine that Chanel might have vending machines that hold your product in whirly wire that retracts once you’ve entered your hard-earned, (and that can sometimes be persuaded to give you two for the price of one if you’re a naughty child and give it a hard slam with your shoulder), I think it more likely that I will be swooning before three sleek and gorgeous machines in full and glorious Chanel livery and proper working order.

What’s inside is much less fattening but far more tempting than chocolate: Les Twin-Sets De Chanel are making their debut to celebrate Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. In three covetable colours, a twin-set comprises one Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick and one matching Le Vernis nail colour.

I am going to struggle against purchase tomorrow with all my might, just to see if I can resist. I may succeed in that fight. I may fail. But I will fight bravely.

But if I come home with any one of these three delicious colours, could anyone blame me? I’d love to think I’m a chic and subtle Délicatesse.

I have been told by many an exasperated former employer that I am a Provocation.

And yet, when you get right down to it, I think we all know I’m a bit of an Infidèle at heart.

Say hello if you see me. I’m easy to spot, just look for the scruffiest woman in your immediate vicinity, and that will probably turn out to be me. If not, you’ve made a new friend. Congratulations!
