Make-up Artist Lisa Eldridge – has opened a pop-up shop that allows real-world shopping of her eponymous beauty line (lip colours, foundation and highlighters) AND the chance to marvel at some pieces from her extraordinary vintage make-up collection. (Pictured above is Eldridge’s Nina Ricci arrangement).
The House of Eldridge pop-up is a shop, and it’s also the museum I’ve been waiting for all my life.

The House of Eldridge pop-up opened at the end of October and is scheduled to run until the end of December 2021
Hours are:
Monday- Saturday : 11am – 7pm
and Sunday : 11am – 6 pm

Eldridge’s lip and face products are very well thought of. I’ve yet to try any, although Velvet Fawn looks like it might be the nude* – NO! – neutral/beige lipstick I’m always searching for: the one that will fill the gap in my heart left by long-discontinued-but-never-forgotten Miss Selfridge Running Bare in the 80s, and then YSL Bois de Rose/Rosewood in the 90s …
I will certainly be returning to this shop at the earliest opportunity to flatten myself longingly against the glass cabinets that house Eldridge’s vintage make-up treasures.
I’ve always believed that the beautifully packaged Nina Ricci makeup of the mid 90s deserved to be put on a pedestal, and I love that Eldridge literally did just that.
*edited to reflect that ‘nude’ is quite a loaded term that most of the time I try to work around by thinking of ‘nude’ as ‘rude pink’. But back in the 90s ‘nude’ was very fashionable and used everywhere, and I wrote the above without thinking!
